Depressive disorders are of three types: unipolar depression, major depressive disorder, and bipolar affective depression. The first-named is the most common while the last-named is the most serious. But, all forms of depression can be treated, usually successfully or to a fair degree of success. It is important however that the patient choose to self-medicate or swerve from the prescribed dosage because that can bring about some very serious complications.
