Efficacy of Two Chemically Related Drugs in the Treatment of Depression and General Anxiety



Patients suffering from a depressed or anxious state of mind are often (though not always) prescribed one of two drugs: Lexapro, and Celexa. Interestingly, these two drugs are chemically related in that one is the parent and the other child. A comparative study of the parent and child in terms of their efficacy shows that the age-old adage Like parent, like child does not necessarily apply to medicines.
