Chemistry and Pharmacology of the Newest SSRI Anti-Depressant Drug
SSRI drugs are used in the treatment of psychiatric disorders, particularly depression and anxiety. They act by restoring balance in the availability of serotonin, the mood-enhancing chemical in the brain. Probably the most successful SSRI drug to date is Lexapro, which was launched in the US 2002.
